First National Workshop National Climate Leadership Plus (CL+) Indonesia

The “Collective Leadership for Sustainable Natural Resources Management” was the first workshop of three workshops series in the National Climate Leadership Plus (CL+) as a part of collaboration between CCROM SEAP and GIZ GmbH funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development German (BMZ). The workshop was held in BumiTapos, Bogor, West Java Indonesia, 13-15 February 2014, attended by twenty-two participants represented from government officials, private sectors, and community workers from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and mainly coming from the two selected river basins; Citarum River in West Java Province and Kapuas River in West Kalimantan Province.

On the first day of the CL+ workshop, participants were given orientation and overview of the whole program, introduction for coaching and journaling and leadership competencies.  On the second day program, participants learned about challenges and opportunities in watershed management and climate change issues in the connection with leadership aspects.  Participants also explored further on leadership values and innovative solutions. On the last day of the program, participants reflected their own journey through Sculpting exercise, and they were introduced to various tools and exercises such as Sensing Journey and Shadowing Process which they will be conducted independently in between workshops.  Throughout the program, participants were encouraged to share their observations, discuss ideas and experiences to enrich the personal and collective lessons learned in the Leadership Journey.
