CCROM and NIES Present Kick off workshop: "Forum on Eco City Bogor through green Innovation"

In supporting Bogor as Green City, IPB started research collaboration with the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) by developing energy monitoring system in campus area (Eco Campus) since 2014. These energy monitoring system is able to monitor the use of energy from time to time by using real data consumption aims to change people behavior of energy utilization, both at the level of households, offices and industry. In 2014, there have been more than 100 points installed in and around IPB campus.

Forum on Eco City Bogor through Green Innovationwas a Kick Off Workshop that aimed to disseminate the research results in developing the MRV system in supporting the low carbon emission development, especially in IPB campus. The forum was held on 9 March 2015 in IPB International Convention Center organized by CCROM SEAP in collaboration with Bogor City, Centre for Research on Energy Policy (CREP) ITB, NIES, and Institute for Global Environmental Services (IGES) Japan. This symposium attended and opened by the Chancellor of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. HerrySuhardiyanto, M.Sc; Head of Bappeda Kota Bogor, Ir. Suharto, ATD, MM; Assistant Deputy for Mitigation and Atmospheric Function Preservation Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ir. Emma Rachmawaty, M. Sc; as well as Vice President of NIES, Mr. Hiroyasu Tokuda.

As a development in the future, IPB and NIESwill bring the cooperation to the level of the city of Bogor, to support Bogor as Green City and to establish a sister city program between Bogor and Yokohama, a city in Japan.
